???-2

Thanks for your comments to my previous post .Let me post my views here :These are NOT GENERALIZED views but OBSERVATIONS of mine..

1.Many have commented on the timid nature of Indians that we tend to speak/write in a more submissive manner. Attitude also matters..For instance : En officela work pannum Russians/Germans pesum pothu,i always felt they used rude and dominating words to convey themselves, compared to the polite talk of Americans. May be history got an influence on them.I read elsewhere that McCauley system was implemented to train Havildars/Clerks of the erstwhile British Raj, and there has been no change in the system since independence...

2.Again ,we address bureaucrats as His Highness/மாண்புமிகு etc..whereas here, its just Mr.President.In schools, we use Sir/Madam to address teachers ,but its just Ms.A /Mr.X ..Attitude matters again ..

3.Though we were colonized, we never had a mentality/feeling that affect us in everyday life that we were ruled once .India, as a country has come a long way since 60 years after independence compared to other countries.

4.Am just interested in finding out why no Britishers stayed back in India, while atleast a minority of population is seen in countries like zimbabwe/south africa.

Any comments ??

Point 4 really got me thinking. Zimbabwe has got independence from Britain only in 1980 which explains why some Britishers are still living there but SA?

1. It is agreed that British Education was meant for clerks... But the truth is that Brithish Education in England was the same as the British Education in India.... it is the same education for Winston Churchill as well as You and Me.....

2. "Slavery" is NOT due to British Education. Before that we had "gurukool" sysem where the student (not only need to adress sir) but has to do all house hodl chores of the Guru, including washing his clothes, and even washing the buffaloes (if any) in the guru's house

3. If not for British reforming our education, we would be more and more back ward

British did not leave India in a Day.......

1. Because of a substantial number of educated people in Indian Sub Continent, there was no dearth of people for taking up administrative posts like Collectors and even Chief Ministers of the Provincial Governments. hence the actual number of Britishers at the time of Independence was very little

2. We achived our freedom NOT by war. Hence it was a slow and sure process and Indians started to occupy higher posts (including the Viceroy-equivalent post by Rajaji) and seeing this, it was in evitable the British had to vacate sooner or later. Hence they started to move to Britain and no one else came here

3. The military had Indian Regiments. (compare to other countries where the military and police were of only British) and there were very few britishers (at the very top posts only)
